Today Martin and I (Sue) did the inspection…
1…weather windy but bright and sunny
2…outside activity was busy…lots of pollen coming in from Sutcliffe Pk and the allotments.
3…lots of brood..seen young biting their way out, lots of stores, very busy hive
4…YES we saw the queen, sorry no pics…she is very shy! (also as was windy the colony was very unsettled so we didnt want to faff!)
5…nature of the colony was much more aggressive than usual, maybe due to the windy conditions, they appeared very protective of their hive and not nearly as calm as usual.
